World no.1 Lee Chong Wei easily slayed his Indonesian rival Sony Dwi Kuncoro 21-7, 21-8 to win his record 9th Maybank Malaysian Open title at Putra Stadium, Bukit Jalil on Sunday. 30 year old Lee Chong Wei fought with full determination not allowing Sony any foothold in the match and fought aggressively.
Chong Wei delivered several excellent smashes and court house shots ending the match in just 32 minutes causing the house to go frenzy by his huge lead.He did not allow any chance or opportunity to Sony and clearly stating his power and resolution to him.
Chong Wei stated the turnoil in crowd inspired him to win the match and he was really happy that he managed to set new record of nine titles. Chong Wei equalled the late Wong Peng Soon's record of eight titles last year.
